Black Saturday: Listing Equipment Losses During The 7th October Attack On Israel

By Elmustek, WarVehicle, BuschModelar and Archie Irving

This list attempts to track equipment losses during the October 7th Terror Attacks.

We the contributors of Armada Rotta strongly condemn the attack on October 7th.

On the 7th October the military wings of  Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, PFLP and DFLP started an coordinated incursion into Israel.

In order to make this Article more readable we will call those groups simply “Hamas” in this Article.

The Attack left around 766 Israeli Civilians and 373 Members of Security Forces dead, 3400 wounded and 5 missing. Additionally 247 Civilians and Soldiers were taken Hostage by Hamas Forces.

Also around 1000 Hamas Fighters were killed and 200 taken captive by Israel (Israeli Claim)

During the fighting Hamas fighters managed to bring the Nahal Oz military base under their control together with most of the vehicles there.

Israeli Security Forces recaptured all the lost territory (including the Nahal Oz Base) until the 9th October. Until the date of the writing of this article (4th January 2024) no footage was released that shows what happened to the heavy Vehicles in that base.

Hamas forces managed to bring some captured Vehicles back to Gaza, namely MDT David, M998 HMMWVs and AIL Storm.

It’s most likely that Hamas forces left the captured heavy equipment behind or burnt them down.

To better show the extent of Equipment that Hamas Forces managed to bring under their control and since we don’t have visual evidence that shows in which state the Vehicles were recaptured, we decided to list them as “captured” in this list.

But keep in mind their current status is unknown and they were most likely recaptured or burnt down.

While we were searching for equipment losses, we were also able to find footage that shows  lost Hamas Vehicles when they were still in use by Hamas and actively participating in the massacres.

An more in depth look into these Pickups can be found here:

Armada Rotta and its contributors do not support any belligerent engaged in war crimes, crimes against humanity, or acts of terrorism.

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or video-graphic evidence is available. Civilian Cars, Vehicles of Emergency Services (i.e. Ambulances), Derelict Equipment, and Loitering Munitions won’t be included in the list. As Police Forces have an active role in this conflict, their equipment losses are included in the list.
